About Cool Patch Pumpkins

Cool Patch Pumpkins near Dixon is a family farm known for its corn maze, which holds a Guinness world record as the largest. Matt Cooley started it as a roadside pumpkin stand in 2001. For 2026 it is open every day from 9 AM to 8 PM, September 19 through October 31.

How long does the corn maze take?

Plan on an hour and a half to two hours, and wear comfortable shoes. Maze tickets are $25 a person, children 5 and under go free with a paying adult, and the person buying the tickets must be over 18. Strollers and wagons are not allowed in the maze, and it is not wheelchair accessible.

What can little kids do if we skip the maze?

There is no charge to enter the patch or to park. The hay castle and playhouses are free, the giant corn bath is $5 and the hayride is $6, with babies 12 months and under free on both.

How are pumpkins priced?

By size, starting at $1, with discounts for buying in bulk. Bring them to the ticket booth to be priced. The farm asks you to bring your own wagon, because its supply is limited.

Is there food?

Yes, but only on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. A concession stand sells tri-tip sandwiches, hot dogs, fries and soft serve, and a coffee cart has drinks, pumpkin pie and kettle corn. No alcohol is allowed. Leashed dogs are welcome on weekdays only.
