About Kooistra Orchards
Kooistra Orchards on South Maple Island Road in Twin Lake is a family apple orchard with u-pick and a self-serve stand in its pole barn. U-pick started early this year, on Friday, September 4.
When can we pick apples?
U-pick apples run on Fridays and Saturdays only, 8 AM to 5 PM. The self-serve stand at the pole barn is open every day from 8 AM to 5 PM while supplies last.
How does the u-pick work?
Stop at the pole barn for as many prepared half-bushel baskets as you need, then drive into the orchard. Rows that are ready to pick have signs, and the u-pick price is $15 per half bushel.
Which apples are there?
The farm has listed Honeycrisp, McIntosh, Cortland, early Fuji, Gala and Blondee for u-pick. Pumpkins started showing up at the farm in mid-September.
