Stone Tavern Orchards on Rues Road in Cream Ridge is an 11th generation family farm with pick-your-own apples, pumpkins and flowers. It opened for fall on September 19 and is open weekends, with an extra Friday opening on October 2.
When can we go?
Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM, with last entry at 5:30 PM. It will also be open Friday, October 2. Hours change with the weather, so call 609-223-0051 for the recorded message before you leave.
How much does it cost?
A $10 ticket, bought only at the farm, covers the hayride out to the orchards, pumpkin patch, flower patch, corn maze, corn pit and bubble barn. Children 3 and under are free. Pumpkins are $0.89 a pound, apples $2.29 a pound and flowers $1 a stem.
Will there be apples to pick?
Only a few. An April heat wave and freeze killed most of the blossoms, so some trees have no apples at all. Pumpkins and flowers are the safer plan.
Can we bring the dog?
No, only service dogs. The petting zoo is $5, a feed cup $5 and pony rides $15, all cash only and not included in the ticket.
