Whittier Fruit Farm

Whittier Fruit Farm on Whittier Road outside Rochester has been owned by the Russell family since 1974. Its apple picking for 2026 started on Saturday, September 12, with pumpkins following in October.

What are the picking hours?

Monday through Friday 10 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 4:30 PM.

Is apple picking easy with kids?

Yes. The trees were replanted to a height that needs no ladders, and you can choose from 32 varieties in a fairly compact area. Containers are provided at no extra cost and apples are sold by the pound.

How do we get out to the pumpkins?

A tractor and wagon take visitors to the pumpkin patch on Saturdays and Sundays in October. Pumpkins are sold by the pound, and the store has sweet cider and donuts.
