About FW Schmitt Farms

F&W Schmitt's Family Farm on Pinelawn Road in Melville runs its Fall Festival on weekends and holidays from September 19 through October 31. The day centers on pumpkin picking, a 7-acre corn maze and tractor-pulled wagon rides.

What does it cost?

Festival admission is $24 for everyone 2 and up, sold at the door only. On weekdays it is $18 with limited activities and food. Pumpkins cost extra, and card payments add 3%. Entry, pumpkins and the farmstand take cash or card, but every other area is cash only.

Can we go on a weekday?

Weekday activities run October 13 to 16, 19 to 23 and 26 to 30, from noon to 5 PM. Festival days run 10 AM to 5 PM. The farm says it fills up quickly on weekends and holidays, and a weekday visit guarantees entry, though not everything is running.

Is the haunted house okay for little kids?

The daytime haunted house runs weekends and holidays from October 3 to 31 and costs $10 on top of admission. The farm does not recommend it for children under 12 who may be frightened. A separate nighttime haunt needs its own ticket.

What else is included, and can we bring the dog?

Admission covers the corn maze, the Pumpkin Patch Playground, the wagon ride and two mini golf courses. Sunflower and zinnia picking, vegetable picking and the concession stand cost extra. Parking is free, but pets are not allowed.
