The Farmer City Haunted Forest is a not-for-profit community Halloween event in Farmer City's South Park, with haunted hayrack rides through the Salt Creek campsites and daytime fun for younger kids. The 2026 events run from Saturday, October 10 through Halloween.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It is free to the public, paid for by local sponsors.
Is there something for kids who scare easily?
Yes. Saturday, October 10 is a Sensory Friendly Day with a quiet barrel train ride, a reduced-noise bouncy house and calm activity stations. The Children's Matinee on Saturday, October 17 has a barrel train ride, a costume contest, games, face painting and temporary tattoos.
When are the haunted hayrack rides?
The first is Friday, October 16 from 7 to 9 PM, with another on Saturday, October 17. A walk-through of the haunted forest follows on Friday, October 30.
What should we leave in the car?
Food, drinks, bags, backpacks and anything that lights up are not allowed inside the haunted attraction. Expect loud noises, strobe lights, fog and uneven ground.
